Aerokinesis: The control of air and wind.
Analytical Overlay: A deep probing or exploration with psi energy in purpose of defense or healing of damaged aura.
Astral Body: Your body when you astral project out of your body. Also known as the Spiritual Body.
Astral Plane: A collection of many planes of existence, some are considered easier to project to than others. The one that newbies most frequently project to is called (by me) the “Etheric Plane”. The etheric plane is the closest to physical reality and resembles it in many way. See the definition for more details.
Astral Projection: Astral Projection is the ability to leave one's body and explore the world around them.
Astral Realm: Another name for the Astral plane.
Astral Temples: There are an innumerable number of structures on the Astral that resemble temples and there is (at least) one for every possible purpose.
Astral Travel: Traveling with your astral body to a known location where you haven't been before; or traveling to random location (near your body, example next room).
Aura: The energy around a person, most often seen as swirling light or color, often indicative of a person's mood, psychic awareness, physical health and mental health.
B
Biofeedback: This refers to the rhythms and patterns of the body's biological functions. Some people study this to manipulate their physiology to avoid stress, headaches, and other diseases. It is also, occasionally, used as a divination tool of questionable merit.
Bi Location: Being conscious of both your astral body and your “real” body simultaneously. This is a rare skill.
Biokinesis: The ability to alter one's cells to their liking. It can be used to change their physical appearance, according to some.
Broadcasting: The conscious or unconscious sending of thoughts, emotions, or psi from one person to a group of people.
Bubble Shield: A technique of creating shield where you visualize psi energy building bubble around you from feet towards your head.
C
Centering: Type of meditation where one finds your calm private part within you. Oftentimes used to calm one's self during times of duress.
Chakras: Indians has believed that human body has 7 primary points of the body where energy is focused. Each point represents different aspects of the self and has a different color. Stimulating a chakra produces positive (or negative) effects
Charging: The gathering of energy in the body.
Clairsentience: hen a person acquires psychic knowledge by the means of feeling (Type of Clairvoyance)
Clairvoyance: To be able to see places or people at a great distance in one's mind. This term is also used to describe precognition.
Clairaudience: Ability to hear things from spirits, people, or anything from miles away. It resembles clairvoyance only with auditory signals rather than sight.
Cloaking shield: A shield that makes you less immediately visible. It oftentimes will work by making you blend into the background.
Constructs: Oftentimes used to describe homonculi or golems created by an energy worker. Shields also fall under this category. Also used as a general term to describe anything metaphysical crafted by a psion that is neither animate nor possessing of intelligence or consciousness.
Cryokinesis: Creating or controlling ice.
D
Déjà vu: The impression that you have done something or been in a situation before. Oftentimes this is associated with precognition.
DILD (Dream Induced Lucid Dream): When a person is dreaming and becomes aware of the fact that they are dreaming.
Dream Control: To retain conscious control over a dream despite sleep throughout a dream. Also known as Lucid Dreaming.
Dream Recall: Being able to remember a dream.
Dream Signs: Omens, portents, or perceived symbols within one's dream. Also signs that can indicate you are dreaming.
Dream walking: This is the conscious and intentional control of another person's dreams. Usually it is done only with permission; however this is not always the case.
E
Electrokinesis: Controlling and creating electricity.
Empaths: People that practice Empathy.
Empathy: The ability to feel other people’s emotions as if they were your own.
Energy: A term most commonly referring to psychic or psionic energy, not necessarily the literal physics definition.
Energy manipulation: Controlling or working with energy in any capacity. This can include psi balls, aura manipulation, shielding, summoning, energy gathering, meditation and just about any other vocation of a psychic or psion.
Entity: Usually used to refer to some sort of metaphysical being. Most of them lack proper nomenclature, so this is a catch-all term to refer to a non-human creature that lacks physical form.
ESP (Extra-Sensory Perception): Usually used to reference clairvoyance or clairaudience.
F
Flaring: Making metaphysical energy visible to the naked eye. Usually used for psi balls.
Force bubble: A psychokinetic shield (repels objects).
G
Gathering: The act of taking energy from the air, objects nearby, or sometimes other people and putting it all together around you.
Grounding: Grounding is the act of taking unwanted energy out of you and sending it to the ground, used in a similar way to Centering.
Guided meditation: A meditation assisted and (de facto) guided by another being. Be it one's spirit guide, a mentor, a guru or some other entity.
H
Higher Self: What most people consider to be the Essence of a person or the higher brain functions. Oftentimes, the 'higher self' is used to refer to the Astral Body.
Hydrokinesis: The control over water.
Hypnotism: Putting a person into a state of such deep relaxation that they become open to subliminal suggestion, whether this suggestion is to act like a turkey or to relieve them of a particular phobia.
I
Indigo children: Named for their indigo aura, these
children display many unique qualities and psionic abilities.
L
Linking: The act of connecting of two minds with psi to send thoughts
emotions, or energy.
Lucid Dreaming: To be aware that one is dreaming and to control the dream.
M
Manifestation: The strong thinking of an event to make it happen. Also the astral ability to envision an object and have said object appear on the astral plane.
Meditation: The
calming, emptying, and or focusing the mind.
Mostly focused on the Eastern religious front, “
Metaphysics: A branch of philosophy dealing with the nature of reality and psychic phenomena.
MILD (Mnemonic Induced Lucid Dream): A method created by Stephen LaBerge to train a person to dream lucidly.
Mirror Shield: A shield that reflects back an attack at the user.
N
Naturals: A psion who can do an ability such as empathy without training. In psionics, most people are a natural at some skill. Some people can be a natural at more than one skill.
NDE (Near-Death Experience): Usually used to reference points in time when your life was at serious risk. I.E. A nasty car accident, major surgery on the heart or brain, being shot at etc. These experiences are believed to strengthen the energy or potency of an individual.
O
OBE (Out-Of-Body Experience): See Astral Projection.
P
Paranormal: Anything that cannot be explained scientifically or that which can not be understood in terms of current scientific knowledge.
Parapsychology: A field of psychology centered on the obscure, half-known facts about the human mind and its capabilities. Often times used to reference research into the human propensity for psychic phenomena.
Pendling: A divination style that uses a pendulum to answer questions in a simple yes/no format.
Pendulum: Not unlike a clock pendulum, it is an object that has a weight at one end and is attached to a string or cord. Used for both divination and telekinetic practices.
Pinging: Sending psi or thoughts to someone to get their attention or for practice.
Phasing: The ability to physically go through objects.
Poltergeist: A violent or disruptive spirit, usually targeting emotionally unstable individuals or those connected with a traumatic event to the spirit. Also sometimes used to describe unconscious and uncontrolled telekinesis.
Postcognition: (see Retrocognition)
Precognition: The ability to see into the future through dreams, visions, or any means that does not require the use of divination tools.
Precognitive Dreams: Dreams that show in some way the future.
Premonition: A sense of something that is just about to happen, or that something will happen. Not unlike Precognition, though less intense.
Programming: Programming a construct means inputting instructions into it's being, coding what you want it to do; making it is what you want it to be; making it seem what you want it to seem, etc.
Psi: The energy psions or psychics use and it also the 23 letter of the Greek alphabet.
Projection: A shortened form of Astral Projection
Psi Balls: A ball of energy in your hand.
Psion: A person who practice psi.
Psionics: The group name for psi and the people
Psi Pet: A construct programmed with some sort of artificial intelligence of limited capability. Used as a companion or assistant.
Psi signature: Every individual possesses a unique energy (Psi) signature. It is like a fingerprint.
Psi Vampires: Psions that suck or drain energy away from other psions.
Psi vamping: "Feeding" off another individual's emotions or energy.

Psychokinesis: The ability to cause mass to move by supernatural means.
Psychic: A name for one who uses their abilities, empathy, clairvoyance, precognition, sensing spirits, etc. It can also be done as a professional level. This is used in the same way that “psion” is.
Pulsing/Pulse Sending: Sending the same single thought or image multiple times for a greater effect.
Pyrokinesis: Starting, putting out, and controlling fire.
R
Remote Presence: Remote presence allows you to sense the presence of a person or animal
and their location. Once you have done
this you can figure out how far away there are from you.
Remote Viewing: The ability to see things that are not within physical view. I.E. Checking up on your cousin who lives 500+ miles away and seeing him/her sitting at their desk reading.
Retrocognition: Ability to observe an object's, location's, or person's past.
S
Sensitive: Someone who is aware of and sensitive to the movement of energy around them. They may not be able to manipulate energy, but they are conscious of its presence.
Shielding: Gathering energy and forming a shield around you to defend from psychic attacks.
Shelling: See Shielding.
Skeptic: One who analyzes or possibly discounts occurrences as foolishness, or is apt to refute information that is considered unbelievable or unacceptable.
Sleep paralysis: Also known as “old hag syndrome”. When one awakens from sleep and finds themselves unable to move or that their body is unresponsive. This is most frequently a frightening experience, but is widely recognized as one of the precursors to projection.
Spirit guides: A spirit guide is believed to be with a person from, and perhaps even before birth. Some consider the spirit guide to be one's own 'higher self,' but always seen as an entity whose goal is to guide your mind and spirit through life.
Spiritualist: An individual who holds a deep connection with his/her religious beliefs OR with their soul as they may perceive it.
Sub conscious: The subconscious part of the brain. Not to be confused with the unconscious, which is fully out of our ability to access individually, the subconscious is most frequently where instinct and premonition emerge from.
Supernatural: Anything having to do with some that can not be explained or is not considered to be natural.
T
Telekinesis: The ability to move objects with psi and your mind.
Telepathy: To be susceptible to thoughts of others.
Telepathic broadcast: Sending out thoughts using telepathy to no particular individual, just hitting an area.
Telepath: An individual capable of sending or receiving thoughts or images from another.
Third eye: Located slightly above the eyes and centered on the forehead, the 'Third Eye' is one of the seven Chakras (see Chakra). To open one's third eye is believed to offer a unique sight capable of perceiving energy or metaphysical entities.
Trance: Is like meditation in that you must be really calm and relaxed and open
to psi. But instead of drifting with psi
you control psi while in this state.
U
Unconscious abilities: Abilities that are unknown to the one that possesses them. Oftentimes they will be latent and manifest during times of duress.
V
VILD (Visually Incubated Lucid Dream): Creating a visualization of what one wants to dream of. Oftentimes used as a tactic to induce lucid dreaming.
Visualizing: To picture an effect or object within one's mind or thoughts.
W
WILD (Wake Induced Lucid Dream): A person starts out consciousness and goes to a dream.
